The Square at Connellsville Open House

Independence Health System celebrated the opening of its newest outpatient facility, The Square at Connellsville, with an open house and ribbon cutting. The Connellsville community came out in full force in support of and to tour the new, 17,000 square foot facility located at 854 Vanderbilt Road, Giant Martin’s plaza.

The outpatient facility is host to the following services: Family Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Walk-in Lab, X-Ray and EKG, Gastroenterology and General Surgery. 

The Open House festivities kicked off with a flag raising ceremony, including Connellsville VFW Post 21, Connellsville American Legion Post 301, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop 180 of Dunbar. Connellsville High School senior Edward Stephenson sang the national anthem. Remarks were given by Independence Health System President of Westmoreland, Frick and Latrobe Hospitals, Brian Fritz; Independence Health System CEO, Ken DeFurio; Independence Health System Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Carol Fox; and Connellsville Mayor, Greg Lincoln. Other dignitaries in attendance included: Connellsville Councilman Ethan Keddy, Connellsville Councilman Robert Topper, Connellsville Councilwoman Carol Tiberio, Connellsville Councilman Tom Karpiak, Connellsville City Clerk Vernon Ohler, PA State Senator Pat Stefano, PA State Representative Ryan Warner and Fayette County Commissioners Vince Vicites, Scott Dunn and Dave Lohr.

Independence Health System CEO  Ken DeFurio stated “The Square at Connellsville represents our strong and tangible commitment to Connellsville. A commitment that is rooted in the health and wellness of those who turn to us for care, be it routine or advanced.”
