About Us
Excela Health
Welcome to Excela Health, the region’s leading provider of advanced medical care. Founded in 2004, Excela Health brought together three hospitals – Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Latrobe Hospital in Latrobe, and Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg – along with other health care affiliates to meet the health care needs of those in Westmoreland, northern Fayette and southern Indiana counties.
To serve the needs of our communities better, we actively recruit new physicians and currently have a medical staff of more than 700 physicians and allied health professionals in 35 clinical specialties along with more than 4,800 employees and 797 volunteers. We have also invested in new technologies, bringing the latest advances to Westmoreland County. At the same time, we work to enhance access to our services through our outpatient locations across the region.
Today, we continue our course along the road toward excellence by embracing safe and efficient patient-centered care driven by value-based behaviors.
We offer a welcoming environment for patients regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity. In an effort to improve the health and well-being of every life we touch, creating a safe, inclusive experience for all patients and their families is our priority.
From our leadership and Board of Trustees to our physicians, nurses and health care professionals at every level of the organization, we take great pride in our name, Excela Health, one that embodies the true spirit of our mission, vision and values.
