Foundation Golf Classic Continues to Enhance Patient Care at Excela Frick Hospital

MOUNT PLEASANT, PA, April 7, 2022 … Proceeds from the 30th Annual Golf Classic hosted by the Westmoreland/Frick Hospital Foundation are supporting continued enhancements to the patient care environment at Excela Frick Hospital. More than $60,000 was raised during the 2021 Frick Golf Classic, bringing the total netted over the past seven years to $459,310 for Frick Hospital.

In the past three years alone, the outing has generated $231,657, some of which was directed to the purchase of specialized equipment to aid in the hospital’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most recently, event proceeds were used to purchase over-the-bed tray tables, bedside night stands, patient-caregiver communication white boards and medication storage boxes for all 33 inpatient rooms at Frick Hospital. Previous golf outing funds were used to procure DynaMap machines that monitor patient vital signs as well as furniture, including chairs and pullout couches, for the increased comfort of patient family members.

“On behalf of the staff of Excela Frick Hospital, we are so appreciative of the community support for the golf outings and our foundation, which in turn benefits all those who need our services,” noted Traci Fick, Vice President, Patient Care Services, Excela Frick Hospital. “While our team has been integral to the health system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare needs of our community go far beyond one illness or injury. These tools and resources are helping meet patient needs every day.”

The Westmoreland/Frick Hospital Foundation will hold its 31st annual Frick Golf Classic at Greensburg Country Club on Friday, September 9, 2022. To learn more, visit ExcelaHealth.org and search giving.
