Excela Health Again Among Nation’s Elite in Wellness

Health system’s culture and environment cited at awards event

GREENSBURG, PA, February 14, 2023 … Excela Health’s commitment to employee health and wellness continues to place the Western Pennsylvania health system among the best of the best nationally, and among leaders within the healthcare sector.

Already recognized among the Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® sponsored by the National Association for Business Resources for six consecutive years, Excela Health was elevated to Elite status for the second consecutive year by the group during its National Illuminate Business Summit earlier this month. Excela Health was one of 12 National Elite winning companies representing the best practices in wellness programs. The winners were selected based on their overall high scores and then named an Elite winner in their respective category. Excela Health was recognized for its culture and environment of wellness.

All participating companies were evaluated by an assessment created and administered by SynBella, the nation’s leading wellness systems firm. Company entries are examined statistically for quantitative and qualitative data. Each application was scored on a point system based upon criteria to benchmark and improve wellness program effectiveness.

"Those companies that made the list of the Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness are truly remarkable.  Given today's need for wellness in the workplace and issues related to the pandemic, these companies have proven they are superior to market conditions. They are elite thinkers and this honor demonstrates their commitment to excellence” said Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO, National Association for Business Resources and the Best and Brightest Programs.

“Being recognized for having a culture of wellness is particularly gratifying,” noted Laurie English, Excela Health Vice President of Human Resources.  “Wellness isn’t just something we talk about; it permeates all that we do.  We are constantly re-evaluating our employee health and wellness programs and adapting to ensure that the environment within our organization remains conducive to our entire team’s well-being.”

Excela Health is also recognized among the Healthiest Employers in Western Pennsylvania, and as a Healthiest 100 Workplace in America, in an awards program presented by Healthiest Employer®.
