Honor and Remember the Special People in Your Life Through Lights of Love
Evidence that it is PEOPLE who bring meaning to our lives was the nearly 900 names on the indoor trees in the Excela Health Latrobe Hospital main floor corridor and the 210 people who attended the 2018 Light Up Night in the hospital auditorium. The meaningful and memorable program included a Ceremony of Remembrance and Honor and culminated with the illumination of the outdoor tree on the Excela Plaza.
Lights of Love, a project of the Latrobe Area Hospital Aid Society (LAHAS), began in 1988. The project allows individuals, groups and businesses to provide a light in honor or memory of loved ones for a nominal fee. Each light on the outdoor evergreen represents those special people. Additionally, loved ones’ names are placed on indoor trees and names of donors and the people they honor and remember are listed in the Honor Roll Book on display in the hospital lobby.
The 2019 Light Up Night is Tuesday, December 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Excela Health Latrobe Hospital Auditorium. Lights of Love brochures will be mailed to recent donors in late September and will also be available in the hospital and community.
