Nursing Recognition

It goes without saying that nurses are a significant asset to the overall organization. Every nurse contributes to making the health system an organization that has a healthy work environment, where team members can work collaboratively and collegially. As such, we take great pride in celebrating nursing excellence and recognizing those whose outstanding contributions serve as a model for us all.

The Excela Health Nursing Excellence Team coordinates monthly awards recognizing those who personify “Excellence in Action” through varied categories of clinical and professional excellence.

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation was formed in November 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) to acknowledge nurses for the work they do for patients and their families every day.
