Child and Adolescent Inpatient Services

Like adults, children and adolescents may develop disorders that interfere with the way they think and act.  A child's environment and genetic makeup may contribute to emotional disorders.  Exposure to violence or abuse, the loss of an important person, or stress may trigger problems.

Excela Health offers a short-term, 11-bed inpatient service for children and adolescents at its Latrobe Hospital campus.  Here, psychiatrist-directed treatment teams with care for the child through a variety of interventions including a physical examination, counseling sessions, structured therapeutic programming, medication and other therapeutic methods.
