About Gastric Bypass Surgery

Laparoscopic surgical procedures are those where small incisions are used.  The smaller incisions bestow a wealth of benefits including reduced pain after surgery, shortened hospital stay and recovery time, and reduced risk of infection.

In gastric bypass, approximately 100 to 150 cm of small intestine is bypassed to reduce the calories that can be absorbed.  A small stomach pouch is created to restrict the amount of food that can be consumed.
