Ligonier Valley Ambulance Service - A Link to Expert Care
Founded in 1967 through a generous gift from the R.K. Mellon Foundation, Ligonier Valley Ambulance Service operates under the direction of Excela Health with Pennsylvania state-certified paramedics and emergency medical technicians providing quality pre-hospital and inter-facility care. Through an ambulance membership program, a person and his family residing in the same household are covered with transportation to a hospital emergency department. LVAS will bill your insurance carrier or Medicare for services rendered without out-of-pocket expense to you. Non-members are billed for deductibles and co-payments required by those same carriers.
The service provides emergency medical care and transport; emergency transport between approved facilities; non-emergency transport to/from facilities that is medically necessary and reasonable (24-hour notice required), and wheel chair transport to health care providers such as hospitals, nursing homes, personal care homes, private physicians' offices and more.
