Since our inception in July 2004, Excela Health and the thousands of dedicated employees, medical staff and volunteers that comprise our organization have taken great strides as a solution for preserving access to health care in local communities throughout our region.
By combining our strengths, the hospitals of Excela Health have achieved far more together than we could have as individual, stand alone hospitals. The support of our entire community has been critical to this success – from board members to area leadership, to local physicians and the very patients we serve.
Building upon the rich traditions created by our communities’ hospitals – Frick, Latrobe Westmoreland and Westmoreland at Jeannette – Excela Health has emerged as the leading provider of care in the region with a bright future.
With patients as our first priority and people as our key resource, we continually strive to
advance health care in a way that is Clinically Excellent, Operationally Excellent and characterized by Growth to meet the needs of our communities. These three areas of focus – Clinical Excellence, Operational Excellence and Growth – represent the core elements of our forward-looking Strategic Vision. Anchored by our People and supported by Capital, this Strategic Vision will guide us as we move forward through the next five years.
Each of these elements is embodied in our Strategic Compass, pictured here.
This Compass defines our organization’s Vision to be recognized as the best provider of care. In addition, we are committed to making Excela Health an advanced employer and place to practice medicine in the region. In fulfilling this Plan, we will focus on creating a future for all three hospitals as unique providers of care to each community we serve. We are committed to investing in each of the hospitals and clinics that encompass Excela Health. We are proud to share this Strategic Vision with you. Whether you are a caregiver on the front lines of care or a community member that supports this health system each day, your partnership is appreciated and critical to what we do.
Please know that our entire team considers it both a privilege and great responsibility to serve you, and we look forward to caring for the residents of our region for many years to come.
Sincerely,

David S. Gallatin
Chief Executive Officer
